Storms over Sweden and disturbances in the power grid

Throughout this autumn and until early December, Sweden has suffered a number of severe storms.

When comparing data from different regions, it is quite easy to see how some disturbances propagate in the power grid while others only have local registrations. From the storm “Sven” (5 and 6 December) we have compared the medium voltage across the western and southern parts of Sweden. In many cases we can see exact times for registrations over large geographic areas but also many local variations.

In the picture above we compare voltage in the towns of Gothenburg, Trollhättan and Ulricehamn.
