The Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre (KGRTC), Unipower AB and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) collaborated to conduct an onsite training session focused on Power Quality & System Stability in the city of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) from 15 to 18 April 2024.

This collaborative effort was aimed at professionals within the energy sector under the ILO Skills for Energy in Southern Africa (SESA) project sponsored by the Swedish government. The Swedish Embassy in DRC played an important role in supporting and facilitating the training initiative.

The participants were drawn from different parts of the country within the Société nationale d’électricité (SNEL), the national electricity utility of DRC. All 23 participants are key members in the Generation, Transmission, and Distribution functions.

Such mixed industry expertise created a dynamic learning environment, fostering discussions and networking opportunities. Russom Kebedom delivered a series of presentations, filled with practical insights and best practices.

In a speech at the close of training on behalf of the participants, a lady participant praised the interactive nature of the sessions, noting how they facilitated deeper understanding and encouraged active participation.
