Modbus Frequency Value Updated Every Second - PQ Secure News 2026

The Modbus protocol is a way to communicate data (values) from Unipower meters to other systems like SCADA. Modbus consists of numbered registers that hold different data like voltage, current, frequency or power. Refer to our manuals to see exactly what registers are available.

We have added a register for frequency updated every second in addition to the existing register for normative frequency readings that updates every 10 seconds (in accordance with IEC 61000-4-30).

Many times, National regulations or TSO and DSO specifications require frequency to be reported more often (usually every second) for generating sites such as RES (Renewable Energy Sources).
